Bug Vacuum
A bug vacuum is a kind of device used to catch insects. It is a great alternative for bug sprays that usually harm health if not used properly. Sprays are toxic and they produce an unwanted smell when being used. So a vacuum that traps insects is really a nice thing to have when you are dealing with a lot of bugs in your house. Aside from the safety, using a vacuum is really effective. You don’t need to smash insects using a flyswatter or newspapers and leave the disgusting body in your walls, floors or ceilings. Holding them with a tissue is also really a tough job especially if you don’t want to get dirty or you have a weak stomach.
A bug vacuum is really a good choice for those people who hate to smash insects and clean the unsightly area, and also for those who cannot take the smell of sprays. It is a device that can kill most kind of insects, both flying and crawling, such as spiders and flies.

There are many variations in the feature of this device. Most vacuums have built-in electrical grids that kill insects once they are trap inside. The typical design of an electric bug vacuum is it has a trap door near the tip of the vacuum nozzle. When the pest is captured and been sucked in the tube, the trap door will immediately closed and the pest will then be incinerated inside by the low voltage which the vacuum has. What’s good about this type of vacuum is once the pest has been killed, you can easily pull out the tube and empty its content. No more chasing bugs or smashing them. The electrified grid is safe so no need to worry about getting zapped. Electrified vacuums are designed with a safety feature that automatically deactivates the voltage when the tube is pulled out for emptying.
But if you prefer, there are also different types of bug vacuum that do not use voltage to kill insects. One is the type that uses a gel as a capture system. You can trap insects inside the device with a gel and after so many captures, you can then easily remove or throw the gel pack. However, compared to the electrical vacuum which is rechargeable, they are less practical as you need to purchase gels every time for replacement. But there are also vacuums that simply capture pests, and allow users to release them outdoors.
If you have pets and kids that stay in your house, using a vacuum is a great option as you don’t need to use toxic sprays or poisons just to kill pest inside. Moreover, this is also a great tool which your kids may also enjoy. But you have to guide and look for them when they are using one, especially to the ones that are electrified.
A bug vacuum costs at about $50 or more, a little expensive, but compared to other means of killing pests, they are more worth it.
